Lloyd, born in Duncan, Oklahoma and raised in Marlow, Oklahoma, received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1977.  He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1980.  Lloyd established the firm in 1985.  

Lloyd is a member of the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and Texas Bar Associations.  He is a Fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and past chairman of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council and the Christian Legal Society.  He is past president of the Oklahoma City Lawyers' Tax Group, as well as a past officer and director for the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council.  Lloyd is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel(ACTEC), formerly serving on the Elder Law Committee for the College and as past co-chairman of the Elder Abuse Sub-Committee.  He is a member of the Christian Legal Society and a founder, acting director, past treasurer and past chairman of the board of directors for Trinity Legal Clinic of Oklahoma, a Christian legal aid clinic for homeless and poor persons.

Lloyd has served as Adjunct Professor of Law in Estate Planning and Estate Administration at Oklahoma City University School of Law and the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In addition, Lloyd served on the Board of Directors of Kirkpatrick Bank, formerly American Bank and Trust of Edmond, for seventeen years.

Prior to establishing the firm in Edmond, Lloyd worked with the law firm of Crowe & Dunlevy in Oklahoma City and with the accounting firm of Peat, Marwick & Mitchell (now KPMG) in Austin, Texas.  

Lloyd practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust law and federal and state taxation. Lloyd’s expertise and experience in estate planning and probate has earned him inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers, a magazine that identifies those attorneys which are in the top 5% of their field, and Best Lawyers by US News & World Report in trusts and estates.

Lloyd is married to Karla McAlister, who is also an attorney in the firm.  They have three children and attend Faith Bible Church in Edmond where Lloyd, a former Elder, serves on the Men’s Ministry Team and as a teacher in the college adult bible fellowship class.  Lloyd enjoys family vacations and cherishes the time he has to read and be involved in other shared educational opportunities.
